Community Builder. Educator. Advocate. Strategist.

A decade of strengthening Jewish life across small communities, campuses, and global networks.
I’m Yos Tarshish - an educator, facilitator, and community strategist with deep experience supporting Jewish communities in moments of growth, transition, challenge and crisis. For more than a decade I’ve led Jewish campus organisations, trained emerging leaders, visited and worked with Jewish communities on every continent, advocated for Jewish communal needs at multiple national legislatures and UN institutions, and built resilient Jewish life in places often overlooked on the map.
My approach is rooted in three commitments:
Clear thinking.
Honest conversation.
Courageous leadership.
Whether I’m working with a synagogue board, a student leadership team, or a small-city Jewish community trying to “do more with less,” I focus on what actually strengthens people - pride, purpose, relationships, and practical tools that hold up under pressure.
My work sits at the intersection of:
-
Jewish identity, resilience, and pride
-
Antisemitism education and response
-
Israel engagement grounded in nuance and values
-
Campus climate and emerging-community strategy
-
Leadership development for volunteers, boards, and students
I’ve spent years on the ground - in student unions, in synagogue basements, leading rallies, in parliaments around the world, and in boardrooms - helping communities navigate real-world complexity with clarity and depth.
At every stage, the goal is the same:
Vibrant, confident Jewish communities that know who they are, what they stand for, and how to lead with integrity.
